Emma left today for 6th grade camp. The kids are gone through Thursday at 1 p.m. Packing for her was quite a chore but it was accomplished with little room left in the suitcase. They left at 8:30 to head to camp for days. She's spent plenty of time away but this is the first time she's been away with school for so many days. I have no doubt she's going to do great. Assuming she is smart enough to dress well and go to sleep when she's supposed to. I did threaten her life to ensure she'd behave appropriately and be respectful. I doubt I have to worry but if my phone rings and I have to go pick her up she's in trouble.
And while she's gone, we're redecorating her room. We bought her a new bed at IKEA this weekend which will be delivered on Thursday (she knows about that). She picked out paint colors and I stored them away and we've ordered stuff online. She has an idea of what's going on because I pushed her last night to put the paint up against her comforter (which was going to camp) to decide what color and she asked if I was going to be painting her room while she was gone. So, she'll be thrilled but tell me she already knew. Whatever!
